THE BODYGUARD AND THE SHOW DOG is a laugh a minute story in the best Janet Evanovich style. The situations that Natasha finds herself in are hilarious, her attempts to balance her career and her relationship are the makings of an Emmy winning sitcom. Ms. Tillery French's Bodyguard series is one that will have you laughing and cheering Natasha's bid for independence even as you feel complete sympathy for Jonce's quest to keep her safe from herself. A wonderful book for an afternoon read.

The Bodyguard and the Show Dog The Bodyguard Series: Book 2

by Christy Tillery French

Natasha is convinced that she has finally found her niche in life. She's going to be a bodyguard. She wants to be independent, and this all-important first case is her ticket to be so. Only she's expected to guard a dog! After she dismisses it on principle, the dog's owner convinces Natasha to take the case, at least her money does. She assures her life mate, Striker, that the case will be a walk in a park. She doesn't count on being chased by a Doberman, applying to be an exotic dancer or being arrested.

As someone in the investigative business, Jonce Striker knows no job is easy. Since Natasha came up with the idea of being a bodyguard, Striker can barely keep his mind on his own work. Between rescuing Natasha from the situations she finds herself in, and trying to figure out ways to get her to marry him, there isn't much time to think of mundane things like work. His partner and office mates know if the cell phone rings, and Striker yells "You did what?" the man is out of there.

Ms. French creates a wonderful cast of colorful characters in this, the second book of her Bodyguard Series, and Striker is a perfectly yummy hero. Some of the situations Natasha involves herself and others in positively encourage laughing out loud. Frankly, The Bodyguard and the Show Dog is rollicking good fun.

Christy Tillery French masterfully adds to The Bodyguard Series with Book 2: THE BODYGUARD AND THE SHOWDOG.

Natasha Chamberlain has broken away and formed her own bodyguard company despite the pleadings of her mother and insistence of her life mate, former boss Jonce Striker. But Natasha is strong willed, stubborn and wants to pay her own way so she is quite happy when an elderly lady hires her to guard her champion show dog that received a death threat. Just how much trouble could she get into watching a dog, even an ugly, stinky, little thing like Chumley?

Jonce Striker is the ultimate dream man: handsome, strong, a supreme lover and his weakness is Natasha. He rescues her from one disaster after another and tries to protect her from herself while at the same time giving her room to do it her way. The only trouble is Natasha's way lands her in jail, the emergency room and a biker bar among other tight places. Will Stiker be able to keep her in one piece long enough to convince her to marry him? Will Natasha find out who is threatening Chumley and save his life? You must read Ms. French's uproariously funny book THE BODYGUARD AND THE SHOWDOG to find out.

I laughed till I cried and still chuckle when I muse back over this riotously entertaining book. Christy Tillery French has such a witty twist to her words that I could not help but devour the whole book in one sitting. You will absolutely love her characters, all of them, primary and secondary. And Jonce Striker is to die for. I adored the interaction between Jonce and Natasha and the love scenes will make your heart race. THE BODYGUARD AND THE SHOWDOG is this summer's beach read for sure so make plans to buy your copy.

THE BODYGUARD AND THE SHOW DOG is a laugh a minute story in the best Janet Evanovich style.

Natasha Chamberlain is starting up her own bodyguard business and her first case is guarding a show dog. Ok, it is a dog, however, Natasha knows she has to start somewhere and after her last case working for her ex-boss Jonce Striker, where she ran into some trouble she believes this case will be a lot safer. WRONG!

Natasha is excited about starting her own business despite the complaints from Striker and her family that it is too dangerous for her. Her first case guarding Chumley, a champion show dog should be a piece of cake. However, whether it s Natasha's style or just the fact that the case is jinxed she runs into trouble at every turn. Jonce Striker, her ex-boss, now lover is having to pull her out of trouble almost daily and is not happy about it. Will this case cause a serious rift in their building relationship or will Natasha and Jonce manage to balance their individual needs for independence. As Natasha follows the clues to who has threatened she runs into an animal abuser, lands in the hospital and is thrown into jail, no wonder Jonce is a bit worried for her safety. Who would have thought guarding a dog would be such a challenge?

Established fans and new readers will want more of this series. I hope book number three is in the offing, Ms. French.

One of my favorite writers is back. This second book in The Bodyguard series reprises characters fans loved in the first, and throws a few new ones into the mix. Along with the action, suspense, and romance we expect from Ms. French, this book is liberally laced with humor.

Back for another round of action and danger are Natasha Chamberlain, the feisty bodyguard with a hair-trigger temper; Jonce Striker, her enigmatic half-Cherokee boss turned lover; Roger Valentine, a client in the first book and now a friend; Pit and Bigun, Valentine's Samoan bodyguards who spend half their time keeping Natasha out of trouble. This time Natasha is hired to guard Myrtle Galbreath's prize-winning show dog, Chumley. Chumley is ill-mannered and obnoxious but takes a shine to Natasha. Someone has threatened the dog's life if Myrtle enters him in an upcoming championship. Before too long the fur begins to fly in more ways than one as first Chumley and then Natasha are stalked by bad guys bent on eliminating them both.

Natasha's unorthodox style as a bodyguard throws her into one scrape after another while Jonce works frantically behind the scenes to keep her alive. He plans to marry this infuriating woman and, one way or another, she's getting to the altar in one piece! Natasha's list of suspects adds intriguing dimensions to the mystery. Is it the seedy owner of a strip club, a lecherous Senator, a gang of vicious bikers, or a crazed State employee out to end her life? I suggest you read the book to find out.

Christy Tillery French excels at creating very human characters, intense action, provocative storylines, and sizzling romance. Established fans and new readers will want more of this series. I hope book number three is in the offing, Ms. French.

Praise For Chasing Demons

The author of Chasing Horses and Wayne's Dead has done it again.

Her gift for creating compelling characters and an exciting story comes a cropper in Chasing Demons. This third book is Christy Tillery French at her best.

At age 14, a beautiful and innocent Kendra is "traded" by her father to Tony Salvatori. Tony is a mobster, an evil, murderous villain of the worst kind. Wealthy and powerful, he grooms the young girl he's renamed Angel to be his wife. At age 18, he marries Kendra / Angel and sets out to make her into the sort of woman he can be proud of in public. Over time her life becomes a nightmare of vicious beatings and observing Tony's murderous vendettas. When he deliberately causes her to miscarry their child, she escapes with the help of a sympathetic henchman.

Battered and hemorrhaging, she finds shelter on the property of Garth Fisher. Garth is a burnt out cop who lives in self imposed isolation in the mountains of North Carolina. At first shocked and moved by Angel's condition, he soon feels admiration for her courage. Over time, his concern for her turns to tenderness, and then love. The only man Angel has ever known intimately is the brutal Tony. Garth's quiet strength and gentle consideration are a new experience, one she'd like to explore if only Tony's spectre was not threatening their lives.

The raging Tony cuts a violent swath through several states in his maddened search for Angel. And when he and his goons catch up to Garth and Angel, all hell breaks loose. But Angel has vowed to rid herself of Tony. No more chasing demons. The final chapters are full of adrenalin pumping action as Angel takes her stand with Garth beside her.

It seems Ms. French can write in any genre. Her work is always "no holds barred" excitement, with strong and believable characters racing to a satisfying climax. If you like action thrillers with a healthy dose of romance, give Chasing Demons a whirl.

Any movie producers out there? This one would make a thrilling movie.

Ms. French displays a sure instinct for suspense by weaving her psychological thriller with a maze of brutal violence, sensual intrigue, and true-to-life characters. Along with his partner, Marvin, Jack finds every avenue of his investigations all run to the same dead end street. [FIVE STAR REVIEW!]
Midwest Book Review - fast paced thriller

Ms. French has created a tidy thriller here, beginning with the prologue and ending with the epilogue's last line. The characters are believable and carry this story along swiftly with gritty realism. That the reader suspects from the beginning who the murderer might be does not dilute the suspense. Jackson Daniels - Jack to his friends - is a lonely police detective whose empty life has worn him down. When a serial killer stalks successful lawyers in Knoxville, there are few clues to help Jack and his partner Marvin break the case. Each crime scene they encounter is awash with the sight and scent of blood, every victim has been mutilated. And above each death bed the murderer has scrawled, "Wayne's Dead". Every facet of their investigation leads to a dead end. Jack meets and is immediately attracted to the beautiful and childlike Gillian. Starkly sexual one minute and innocent enough to break Jack's heart the next, her changeability keeps him off center and bemused. All Jack knows is that he can't remember loving or being loved so thoroughly in the past, and can't imagine life without her. The author interweaves Jack's love story with a serial killer's handiwork in ways that make Wayne's Dead a fast and fascinating read. This is not a story for children or sensitive adults due to realistic dialog, violent scenarios, and mature themes. But those who enjoy adult thrillers will find it worth their while.

Gripping Psychological Thriller!

Hats off to Christy French! She has written an exciting psychological thriller with her newest book, Wayne's Dead. Her characters are authentic, her dialogue is accurate and real with a slight flavor of Southern regional phrasing appropriate to the book's setting--Tennessee. Her reseach into Multiple Personality Disorder is scholarly, convincing, and textbook accurate, giving the plot a gripping and frightening account of murder and mutilation of the worst kind. The reader is kept on the edge of his seat while the story develops into a maze of twists and turns as the authorities seek to solve the bizarre murders perpetrated by a demented or demented invdividuals. A highly recommended read for lovers of psychological thrillers!

This Would Make a Great Movie!

My favorite books are thrillers and 'Wayne's Dead' is the best I've read so far. Not knowing this author's work beforehand, I was surprised to find such a great book, one that moves at a fast pace, has characters and dialogue that are 'real', and is also instructional in the area of forensics as well as psychology. This book is outstanding and I am so glad to have found a new author and one I think will become a best-seller. Take it from me, Ms. French is better than a lot of those who are at the top now who seem to write nothing but boring trite. I highly recommend this if you like suspense and mystery. It would also make a great movie!

Praise For Chasing Horses

[FIVE STAR REVIEW!]
Midwest Book Review - dark truths, spicy romance

On the back cover of Chasing Horses, the author says she likes to write about quirky Southern women. I know first hand about the South and Southern women. I'd say she caught the nuances just right. Cherokee England - Ricki to her friends - is divorced from a husband she still loves and searching for some meaning in her life. Ricki and Danny England were high school sweethearts, married young, and produced a son who's reached the age of 17. How the fire that always flared between them died out, Ricki hasn't figured out. She still misses Danny, but he has a new woman in his life and is planning a second marriage. Ricki tries to face her life with humor and courage, but it isn't always easy. Activities with Women Aware and Responsive (WAR) fill the void. She and her fellow vigilantes step in when public WAR activities fail. That Ricki keeps herself in hot water with these covert activities is an understatement. Danny is a politician who aspires to climb the ladder of success. Ricki's dabbling in slightly illegal vigilanteism brings his fiery temper to a boil, and introduces her to a sexy, charming detective with the Knoxville Police Department. Sam. Both literally and figuratively, with Sam, Ricki adds a notch to her bedpost. She figures, if Danny can play around then I can too. Sam isn't the last notch she adds to her bedpost either. As Ricki fights injustice on all fronts with WAR, and experiments with expanding her sexual experience, she reclaims Danny's favors and attention. Chasing Horses is a lesson Ricki learns at last: The best way to catch a horse is not to chase him. Ms. French's novel is a mix of dark truths and humor, romance and thriller, with a little dash of pathos. I enjoyed it. This book is for mature readers due to spicy sexual content.

This Book Offers the Reader a Hodgepodge of Issues

'Chasing Horses' by Christy Tillery French will make you laugh, cry, and get angry. The author deals with a variety of issues as she leads the reader thru a phase in the life of Ricki England, a woman with spunk and character who, after 20 years of marriage, is trying to find herself through somewhat wacky means while dealing with issues which face women in their 30's. The romance sizzles in places, is hilarious in others. Ms. French also throws in some suspense to sweeten the mix! If you like the writing style of Janet Evanovich, try French. Her humorous style of writing and her creativity with dialogue are great!
